Commonly Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?
While I do not accept insurance, I do accept HSA and I can provide is a superbill for you to submit to your insurance to receive reimbursement for our sessions.

You can call your insurance company to get clarity on how much they reimburse for preventative nutrition and health counseling (ie. working with a dietitian)!
What’s the difference between a Dietitian, Nutritionist & Health Coach?
Excellent question! A Registered Dietitian must earn a minimum of a bachelor’s degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) + earn a verification statement from a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). They then must get accepted to a clinical internship, complete 1200 hours in various rotations (inpatient, outpatient, renal dialysis, etc.) and finally study/pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) exam to officially become a Dietitian. This means they have extensive training and expertise (~5-6 years) in all things relating to nutrition, chronic disease prevention/management, and more.  

Nutritionists may have had some formal training or education but because this is a very loose term, many can legally call themselves nutritionists without completing academic schooling/training.

A Health Coach may also have some coach training experience (mostly focused on helping people change behaviors and habits), however they are not legally allowed to provide advice on personalized nutrition, medical recommendations, supplements, etc. since they are not trained to do so.

They all can be supportive in helping you through your health journey, but just be mindful of what type of support you are looking for and ensure they have the proper credentials to keep you safe and healthy throughout!
Do you have a cancellation policy?
For cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, you will be charged 50% of the session fee. However, if the cancellation is due to an emergency, I’m very forgiving in those situations.
How much do you love what you do?
A LOT! Helping others feel their very best and accomplish their health goals brings me an incredible amount of joy. For the last 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure of supporting my clients to create healthier, more fulfilling lives and it’s been incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing else I’d rather spend my time doing than this. 
Who do you work with?
Anyone looking to improve their health, habits, and nutritional status once and for all. I don’t prescribe diets or obsess over calories (ie. quick fixes). Instead, I work with individuals in a collaborative, comprehensive way where we optimize nutritional intake, develop mindful eating habits, create more rewarding behaviors and improve lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, work-life balance, movement, mindfulness, etc.)
